NUTMEG whole without shell
A stone's throw from our friend and collaborator Nihal's forest garden outside Kandy, the nutmeg trees grow up to 20 meters high, where the fruit is allowed to ripen in peace and quiet until they fall to the ground and are collected. The now fully ripe nuts are removed, dried whole and sent to us immediately afterwards. The characteristic taste of the nut is warm and aromatic with a slightly sweet aftertaste and fine notes of cinnamon, cloves and allspice.
Nutmeg is the difference between a béchamel sauce and a good béchamel sauce that makes your lasagna come together as a whole. Also use it in the right amount and grated in gratins, pasta, vegetable dishes and mashed potatoes as well as in baked goods, tea and cocoa with whipped cream.
